Reports suggest the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) muted Hanuman Chalisa in the film claiming it would have “hurt religious sentiments”. In this scene, Suraj is reciting the Hanuman Chalisa in the bath tub in the presence of Shashi which is a ghost. Now the audience will hear Suraj murmuring long droning chant which would be inaudible.

Well, the film has already hit the screens today. Ever since the trailer has been released, it brought the curiosity among the audience to watch a movie that appears to be unique and very different. The plot of the story starts with the big fat Punjabi wedding of Kanan and Anu. Kana is an NRI guy who is ‘Manglik’. So he was asked to marry a tree first. This tree is also a house of Shashi, a friendly ghost.

The film also features Diljit Dosanjh as a poet and singer in Phillauri around the era of pre-independence. Since Anushka plays his love interest, it would be interesting to see the pair’s chemistry as they share the screen space for the first time. Up till now the movie review by the audience and other celebrities about Phillauri is going very well. Everybody is praising the storyline of the film as well as the power-packed performances given by the stars. The response is good so go to your nearby theaters and enjoy Phillauri!
