China is one among the third country to deploy a man in space after the Soviet Union and United States. The country is aiming to construct ground stations on Antarctica to endorse its ocean monitoring satellites, a state media reported on Thursday.
China’s hyperlinked worldwide network of ground stations to upkeep a sturdy growth of the number of satellites. However the outer space ambitions has shown concern from some countries which suggested that it could be used for espionage, a suggestion which repelled and rejected by China.
China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co. is on the process to build stations at the Zhongshan research base, stationed in Antarctica. This is one among the two research bases which China acquired after fetching a tender with its 43.95 million yuan ($6.53 million) bid, as per reported by a state-controlled China Space News reported.
Furthermore there have no technical details of the project yet, but China Space News released two illustrations of an artist’s framework which features four ground stations at Zhongshan, situated across Prydz Bay in East Antarctica, south of the Indian Ocean.
The project is a massive part of the strengthening China’s marine economy and making it a marine power across the world.
