As the Indian Defense mechanism gets strong, China strongly wants India to be banned into the Nuclear Suppliers Group, whereas according to sources China is pushing Pakistan on the flip side for its entry in the latter group.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang “the entire multilateral non-proliferation export control regime including the NSG has regarded NPT as an important standard for the expansion of the NSG,” he said.

India, Pakistan, Israel and South Sudan are the four UN member states which have not signed the NPT, the international pact aimed at preventing the spread of nuclear weapons.

Pakistani Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz last month declared that “China has helped Pakistan to stall India’s bid to get NSG membership”.
