Former Royal Challengers Bangalore owner Vijay Mallya recently shared a picture with West Indies batsman Chris Gayle on social media. The business tycoon and Gayle have worked for the Bangalore-based franchise – Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.
Mallya posted a photo of himself and Gayle on Twitter with the caption, “Great to catch up with my good friend Christopher Henry Gayle, the universe boss. Super friendship since I recruited him for RCB. Best acquisition of a player ever.”
Gayle joined RCB in 2011 and remained a member of the squad until 2017. He dominated the IPL while playing for the RCB with 3420 runs scored in 91 games at an average of 43.29 and a strike rate of 154.40, including 21 half-centuries and five centuries. The flamboyant batsman scored a spectacular unbeaten 175 runs while playing for RCB. In the competition’s history, it just so happens to be the highest individual score.
Vijay Mallya is currently subject of an extradition effort by the Indian Government to return him from the UK for the financing crimes accused by the Indian banks on him.
