A photo of a couple is getting viral on social media in which they can be seen posing near a lion. They are kissing each other in the photo. Now according to the reports, the lion along with them in the picture is dead. The picture was taken in South Africa after this couple killed this giant lion and kissed each other near the lion’s dead body.
The photo is now doing the rounds on the internet and termed as shocking and insensitive. Darren and Carolyn Carter are a couple who run a taxidermy business. The photo on the internet was shared by the Legelela Safaris, one of the companies that provide hunting packages to British citizens.
On top of everything, the post said, “Hard work in the hot Kalahari sun…well done. A monster lion.”
Referring to the killing of an endangered species like a lion as ‘hard work’ shows the level of insensitivity and arrogance. To let you know, lion is an endangered species and about only 20,000 to 39,000 lions left in the 26 African countries. The couple described themselves as “passionate conservationists” in their bio, reportedly. If this is what conservationists do, we scare what hunters are capable of doing.
One of the users on social media wrote, “This couple should be utterly ashamed of themselves, not showing off and snogging for the cameras.”
