Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is one of the most awaited anime titles coming to Netflix soon. It’s a spinoff of CD Projekt Red’s well-known Cyberpunk 2077 game that will bring you deep into the world of edgerunners, a type of mercenary outlaw, as they traverse the dystopian and futuristic Night City.
Despite the fact that Netflix, Studio Trigger, and CD Projekt Red haven’t uncovered many details about Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Netflix has shared more updates about the 10-part story at the Geeked Week 2022 virtual event.

When is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners coming to Netflix?
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is set to release globally on Netflix in 2022, however, they haven’t announced an official release date
During Geeked Week 2022 virtual event on June 8, Netflix reported that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be released in September 2022. On Aug. 17, the anime’s official website announced its release date: Sept. 13, 2022.
Netflix affirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be set in the same advanced world as the videogame, the dystopian Night City. The show’s official synopsis affirms that the 10-episode standalone series will recount the tale of: “A street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner – a mercenary outlaw also known as cyberpunk.”
Since this is about a kid, almost certainly, there will be less sexual content in the Netflix series compared to the videogame. The story will probably not stray too far from its source material, but expect the series to find various ways CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger can utilize the dystopian setting to tell a new compelling story.
Netflix didn’t share any more information about the plot of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
As pointed out by @Vesn4_ on Twitter, a drink called The David Martinez is available to purchase from the Afterlife bar in Night City. While that doesn’t sound exciting, fans of the RPG will know that only legendary figures in the world of Cyberpunk get drinks named after them at Afterlife.
The trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners that Martinez is a street kid from Santo Domingo that turns personal tragedy into an opportunity to get inside the world of edgerunners. The portrayal of the drink likewise suggests this storyline, as it talks about making an impact and aiming high.

Netflix has already dropped a full trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and the official Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube channel already released the announcement video featuring commentary from the acclaimed Japan-based animation company, Studio Trigger.
On Aug. 1, Netflix dropped a new trailer for Cybeprunk: Edgerunners.
Netflix likewise dropped the opening credits of Edgerunners.
Who are the cast and crew of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime spin-off collaboration co-produced by Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, the Japanese studio famous for their series like, Kill la Kill, Inferno Cop, Little Witch Academia, and more.
Studio Trigger’s Hiroyuki Imaishi is good to go to helm Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, while Yoh Yoshinari will be in charge of character design.
