Remember Zaira Wasim, the girl who played young Geeta Phogat in the blockbuster film Dangal is making the headlines now. She took a very surprising move by posting an open letter on Facebook and Twitter and later deleted it.
She is 16 years of age and belongs to Srinagar, in her open letter she posted on social media, she urged to Kashmiri youth not to follow her footsteps or even consider her as their role model. Zaira Wasim who became a star overnight after the success of film Dangal recently met the Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir state Mehbooba Mufti.
During her meet with the CM, she shared her thoughts about the importance of educating the girl child and women’s safety. She was then trolled on social media for meeting the CM. If reports are to be believed, she got very abusive comments that didn’t go down too well with Zaira which let her post the apology.
This is what she wrote in her letter:
And then she suddenly deleted her apology letter post and posted a clarification post, where she said that she was not insisted by anyone for anything. The letter was just to make sure that people were not hurt what she was doing.
