Dave Bautista quits after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with the role of Drax. He announced this via Twitter. But does that also mean that the character is being written from the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Former show wrestler Dave Bautista has played the dry-ass fighting maniac Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2014. But that adventure will come to an end in a few years’ time.
In an earlier interview this week, Bautista hinted that the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie will likely mark the end of Drax. Now, partly after many concerned reactions from fans, he has explained on Twitter exactly what he meant by that statement.
“ Drax will not disappear, but he will no longer be played by me, ” he writes.
At first glance, that statement may be a bit of a shock, but Bautista actually has a very understandable reason for this. ” At the release of the third film I am 54. Physically I can collapse at any time ,” he says with a wink.
Fortunately, we can enjoy him again!
