Dawood Ibrahim is making headlines for the health rumors. Amid this, his connection with the 90’s actress Mandakini also resurfaced.
Dawood Ibrahim is a name associated with terrorism and controversy. Recently he made headlines on social media about his health. The news even stated about his demise in Pakistan. Some reports also reported about poisoning. A viral screenshot showed condolences from caretaker PM Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar. However, there was no such news on the Twitter handle. Now as per the reports Dawood Ibrahim, the underworld figure has reportedly been admitted to a hospital in Karachi due to a severe health condition. Since Dawood’s news surfaced online, here is a look back at his connection with a popular Bollywood actress from the ’90s.
Born as Yasmeen Joseph, the 90’s actress Mandakini gained fame for her bold scenes in Raj Kapoor’s film “Ram Teri Ganga Maili.” Especially the one showing her breastfeeding and another bathing under a waterfall in a transparent saree. During that time it sparked controversy. In 1994, the photos of Mandakini with Dawood watching a cricket match went viral, sparking dating rumors. But the actress denied these speculations.
A year later these photos again surfaced online after Dawood was implicated in the 1993 Bombay bombings. This had a huge impact on Mandakini’s career. Producers and directors distanced themselves, resulting in a significant decline in her opportunities. Her last film, “Zordaar,” released in 1996, was shot and completed in 1998, facing an eight-year delay in release. Despite appearing in several films in the late ’80s, such as “Dance Dance,” “Maalamaal,” and “Dushman,” none matched the success of “Ram Teri Ganga Maili.”
Taking about Mandakini’s personal life, she married Dr. Kagyur T Rinpoche Thakur, a former Buddhist monk and child artist in Murphy Radio advertisements. The couple has two children, a daughter named Inaaya and a son named Rabbil.
