The iconic film Dilwale Dulanya Le Jayenge (DDLJ). Is celebrating its silver jubilee today and it’s been unveiled that at London’s Leicester Square will soon have a bronze statue of the actors.
On, 20th October the most iconic film of the 90s has completed its 25 years. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in lead roles. And became a favorite on-screen couple for everyone. The film was released in 1995, was one of the classics romantic comedy-drama. That every 90s kid fell in love with. Today it is the silver jubilee of the film. That everyone still wants to watch. Produced by Yash Chopra, this film became a massive hit and an all-time favorite for many.
Dilwale Dhulanya Le Jayenge was a big hit at the box office and managed to achieve a commercial as well as critical success. And on completing 25 years in Hindi cinema it is being told that a bronze statue of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol is set to be unveiled at Leicester Square in London.
As per the reports the statue that will be placed at London’s Leicester Square. Will be the latest addition to the ‘Scenes in the Square’. And will showcase one of the many cinematic moments as a bronze statue in that area. Not everyone knows that Leicester Square includes installations of Harry Potter, Laurel, and Hardy, Wonder Women among others. And now the latest addition to it will be the bronze statue of the famous on-screen couple.
According to the information, the statue that will be placed at the square will depict a scene, which was filmed in the bustling area of London. Earlier when the film completed its 20 years. Both Shah Rukh and Kajol hosted an event at Maratha Mandir theatre where the film has been running for more than two decades. Not just Shah Rukh and Kajol, but the film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ also featured late Amrish Puri, Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Mandira Bedi, Karan Johar, among others in pivotal roles.
