On the 48th International Emmy Awards Delhi crime which is based on the horrific 2012 Delhi gangrape, won the award for the Best Drama Series. The International Emmy Awards, on September 24, 2020, announced its list of nominees for this year. And Netflix bagged five nominations, including one for the 2019 cop thriller, Delhi Crime, in the category of Best Drama Series. And finally, the award was achieved by Shefali. The news about this was confirmed by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. And was a big win for Indians. Infact director of the film Richie Mehta, during the virtual ceremony, said “I dedicate this award to all the women who not just endure the violence that so many men inflict on them, but are then tasked to solve the problem. Finally, to the tireless mother, and her daughter. Not a day goes by when I don’t think about you both and what the world subjected you two to. And I hope none of us ever forget that.”

About the storyline
Delhi Crime is basically a story based on the horrific incident that happened in Delhi in 2012. The film features Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, Rajesh Tailang, Vinod Sherawat, Denzil Smith, Gopal Dutt, Yashaswini Dayama, and Jaya Bhattacharya. The seven-part series released in 2019 shows how Delhi Police is investigating about culprits of 2012 who murdered and gang-raped a girl. And after it was announced as the best drama. It was not just a win for the crew members of the film but also for India as the show made history by becoming the first Indian web series to win an International Emmy award.
