On Friday, Congress Rajya Sabha Parliamentarian Digvijaya Singh posted a meme on his twitter account abusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In an attempt to criticise PM Modi, Digvijay used unparliamentary language and many tweeple slammed Congress leader for this act.
The meme posted had a picture of PM Modi with text that read:
“Mere do achievements 1.) Bhakton ko Ch*t**a banaya 2.) Ch*T**on ko Bhakt banaya.”
Digvijay further added: “Not mine but couldn’t help posting it. My apologies to the person concerned. He is the best in the art of fooling!”
One user commented: “
#SoniaGandhi should send this time #DigvijaySingh to an undisclosed location abroad for treatment of ‘Known’ ailment.” Other commented: “Media Jamat will not Ask Resignation of Sonia Gandhi now. Which Party Digvijay Singh belongs? People will give you a big slap in 19.”
“What gives Digvijay Singh the courage to use vile language for the PM is that he knows he can always get away with it unscathed.”
In 2013, Digvijay described Meenakshi Natarajan, a female Congress MP from Mandsaur, as “sau tunch maal” (“totally unblemished”). Singh once also equated RSS to the NAZIS:
“The RSS, in the garb of its nationalist ideology, is targeting Muslims the same way Nazis targeted Jews in the 1930s”.
