As per the reports newly elected BJP MLA from Kothrud, Chandrakant Patil revoke the liquor permit after objections were raised by several groups.State excise commissioner C. Rajput confirmed the move, stating, “The state excise department has cancelled the permission to serve liquor during the programme.” Hence both Patil and other right-wing groups opposed the inclusion of alcohol at the event, citing cultural and logistical reasons.
Objections raised by MLA Chandrakant Patil
MLA Chandrakant Patil severely condemned the concert saying that such events are not right for the city. In a statement, he said: “Such shows are not a part of the culture of the city” This will cause a significant disruption to the people living in that region. It will also lead to traffic congestion. Therefore, I have petitioned the city police commissioner to cancel the programme. Patil also raised issues of the kind of inconvenience the event would pose to the community.

Earlier on November 15, the Telangana government served a notice to the singer regarding his performance in Hyderabad, banning songs related with alcohol, drugs, and violence. To counter the criticism during the concert in Ahmedabad on November 17, Dosanjh replied, “If they want me to stop mentioning alcohol in my songs, they need to ban liquor all over India.” His reaction cheered him up among his fans. But the same comment stirred a discussion around freedom of speech or an artist’s accountability.
