Crime against women is increasing day by day and that too because of pathetic reasons ! Our society on the bright side blames the victim and make their life, even more, hell. The mindset of the men and society as a whole is full of shit which judges a women character based on her clothes and her life choices. Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India, According to National Crimes Records Bureau 2013 yearly report, 24, 923 rape cases were reported across India.
And this is just the rape cases which were reported ! What about the cases which were not even reported and buried under the society pressure and the self-respect. In 98 % of the cases the accused was known or familiar to the victim. what does this indicate ? This indicates that the men of the family do not even respect the women they have blood relations with, So, let’s analyze when they cannot even hold their horses within the community how can they in the society ?
And what’s even more shocking that the accused and the judges, ministers, society, police blames the girl who has been raped !

Nirbhaya means fearless, this name was given to the 23-year-old girl who was raped by 6 men in a private bus in Munirka 2012, near Delhi. She was beaten and gang raped and later died from injuries and bruises. Later a documentary was made by BBC titles “India’s Daughter”, in which the main accused in the case said “Women who go out at night have only themselves to blame in case they attract the attention of male molesters,”Mukesh Singh who was driving the bus. Another shocking statement mad by him was “A decent girl won’t roam around at 9 o’clock at night. A girl is far more responsible for rape than a boy is. Boys and girls are not equal. Housework and housekeeping are for girls, not roaming in discos and bars at night or wearing wrong clothes. About 20% of girls are good.” After Nirbhaya case the whole country was shocked to the roots and stood for Nirbhaya and the whole country fought for justice.
Where is our country leading with this ? One thing is for sure that if the crime against women is not stopped then the future of the country is bleak !
