Disney Channel has just announced its original T.V movie. A film that is all about an Indian-American girl Avantika in the lead. So let’s know the name and details inside.
If you have not heard of Disney’s First Indian American Movie. Then here’s what you need to know. Actually, we are talking about the film Spin that will premier sometime this year. The film is directed by Manjari Makijany is based on an Indian-American girl named Rhea played by Avantika Vandanapu in the lead role.
The story for sure will be one of its kind because it will show the incredible journey of a girl who is curious and passionate about her career as a DJ. She is someone who has the talent of blending up Indian texture and Western mixes. And that’s what the storyline is based upon.
No wonder that Spin will be exciting for many reasons. Because the story portrays her eclectic group of friends, her afterschool coding club, her family’s Indian restaurant, multigenerational family, which got even more closely after her mother passed away. But the turning point comes when she falls for DJ Max (Michael Bishop)and her passion for music is reignited. Rhea then ultimately discovers that she is naturally gifted for creating beats and producing music. But must find the courage to make her dream true.
Showing her curiosity about the film the lead actress Avantika while talking to ET over mail said. “I’m so eager to have this movie out in the world — as a reminder for young Indian girls, and anyone really, to follow their aspirations.,”
