The only difference between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Republican party’s US presidential candidate Donald Trump is that one speaks in Hindi and the other in English, said Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) president Kanhaiya Kumar.
“In America, Trump says Muslims and blacks should go out and in India, Modi’s leadership is also speaking on the same lines against the Muslims, Dalits and other minorities.” Speaking at the inaugural function All India Youth Federation conference, Kanhaiya Kumar said.
Inaugurating the public meeting held as part of the three-day national general council meeting of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF), which began at Tagore Centenary Hall here on Monday, Kumar said that both the leaders represented regressive right-wing politics.
Taking another dig at Modi for his Kerala-Somalia comparison during the last assembly elections, Kanhaiya said :
“BJP’s national council meeting is going to be held in Kozhikode soon and when Modi learns more about Kerala he will realise what he said was a mistake,”
On the campaign against beef eating, he alleged that without addressing the basic problems faced by the youth, RSS and BJP are punishing people in the name of cow and flaring up communal feelings in order to divide the people.
