A person’s voter ID card was replaced with a dog’s photo instead of his photo in West Bengal. Now, the person has decided to file a defamation suit against the Election Commission of India.
Sunil Karmakar, who is a resident of Ramnagar village in Murshidabad district, stated, “My identity card had come in a few days ago. But there were some errors in that, which I applied later for improvement. When a new card arrived on Tuesday, I found a picture of the dog instead of my photo in it.” Sunil is now thinking to drag the Election Commission to the court. He said that they have done intentionally to humiliate him.
ANI confirms the report
The officer concerned in correcting the voter ID card mistakes, Rajarshi Chakraborty said – The photo was noticed while correcting the mistake, which we also corrected later. Then there is no information on how the photo of the dog appeared. However, we will provide him a new voter card in the upcoming days.
