In a throwback interview from 2005, Emraan Hashmi opened up about being romantically involved with a married woman before marrying his current wife, Parveen Shahani. Confessing frankly he said, “Yes, I did have an affair with a married woman.” Hashmi shared that upon discovering her marital status, he initially wanted to quit the relationship but found himself unable to do so. He said, “Yes, I know it doesn’t make sense, but logic tends to fly out the window when you’re in a relationship.” Despite feeling guilty, Hashmi continued the affair, troubled by his conscience throughout.
Hashmi said that all these thoughts had been troubling me for quite some time. “I asked myself several times what was I doing? Because if I was in his place as a husband, I would have killed the guy who had tried to rustle an affair with my woman. However, I kept going at it for some strange reason. During that time Emraan and the lady were caught red-handed and the relationship came to an end.
Emraan recounted that the woman’s husband eventually discovered their affair. He revealed that it led to a confrontation between them. The actor said, “We even had a physical altercation, but mutual friends intervened before it escalated further.” Fortunately, the situation was resolved before it turned ugly. Reflecting on the experience, Emraan admitted, “So for all the adventurism that is associated with a one-night stand, I am not a big fan of it any longer!.”
