Lords witness the pure bliss of bowling dominance on the Day 1 of one of the best rivalries – England vs New Zealand.
17 total wickets fell today on Day 1 and the test doesn’t seem long enough to buy tickets for Day 5. Nevertheless when the crowd would have seen it worthy enough to buy tickets for Day 1.
Ironically the tickets were not fully sold as Lords faced the embarrassment of 20000 plus tickets remaining unsold (Day 1 to Day 5).
New Zealand came out to bat for the first innings which couldn’t be handled for a long time as the lethal duo of Anderson and Broad wanted some early break after coming out together after a long break, which resulted in the dominance of England as they sent the Kiwis back to the pavilion at just 132 runs in 40 overs.
Fortunate to mention the star of today’s bowling unit – Matty Potts who couldn’t have imagined a better debut at the iconic Lords. Matty took 4 brilliant wickets and could have possibly craved for yet another one to make it fiver in his first appearance. Nevertheless, it was an amazing start by the hosts until the Kiwis decided to blow up.
The visitors took classical revenge as the pacers took 7 wickets of hosts at just 117 runs. England is now 3 wickets away from getting all out and Day 2 awaits for much more excitement and roaring at the Lords.
