The actor Ranveer Singh likened making his most recent movie, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, to “friends” banding together to produce a picture that everyone is passionate about. The romantic comedy-drama, which Karan Johar directed, opened to overwhelmingly rave reviews on Friday.
Seven years after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Karan Johar returns to directing with this movie, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi.
Ranveer claims to have enjoyed working with the veterans in a video titled “Making of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” published by Dharma Productions. “Dharam ji is just all love. He is the most grounded, down-to-earth superstar. Jaya ji has that authority. When she walks onto a set, everybody is on alert, on attention!”

Alia Bhatt described Jaya Bachchan as a “team player” who consistently works to improve the movie. “You don’t really need to do anything, you just have to respond to them because they are just so fine and, in the moment,” Alia shared.
“I was excited to do a full-blown, Karan Johar kind of movie. He is one of the greatest directors Indian cinema has ever seen and the best part about Karan is, how receptive he is to feedback and collaboration,” she added.

Ranveer praised Karan for having “such good, positive energy.” “He lives and breathes entertainment, cinema. Sometimes I wonder how he does it. If you ask me, how was it working in the film, I will tell you it was the most fun, like friends coming together making a movie,” he averred.
Everybody is responding favourably to Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Within the first two days of its release, it brought in Rs 27.15 crore. Recently, Anurag Kashyap acknowledged having seen the movie twice.
