Game of Thrones’ 8th and final season has already started. The first episode went on air on April 14, 2019. One of the main characters of the show, Sansa Stark played by actress Sophie Turner has given a surprising statement.
Sansa revealed that negative comments by the social media users about her character in the American fantasy drama show Game of Thrones made her consider suicide. Now 23, Sophie said depression got worse after she hit puberty and it intensified further around the age of 17.
She got affected by internet bullies and trolls and started doubting her acting skills. She said, “I would just believe it. I would say, ‘Yeah, I am spotty. I am fat. I am a bad actress.’ I would just believe it. I would get (the costume department) to tighten my corset a lot. I just got very, very self-conscious.”
Sophie said, she suffered depression for 5 to 6 years. Even getting out of the bed became the biggest challenge for her. She refused to hang out with her best friends. She refused to go to any public place or party.
But it was her fiance Joe Jonas who helped her overcome this depression. Now when she’s done with the shoot of Game Of Thrones, she wants to focus on her mental health and grooming herself as an individual.
