One thing that is currently dominating the cricket world nowadays is the Ball-tampering incident. Yes, we are talking about the famous Smith and Bancroft controversy. The International cricket council awarded a one-match suspension to Smith while confiscating his entire match-fee and Bancroft has to submit 75 percent of his match-fee with three demerit points.
According to the Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh, this punishment is very less. He tweeted: “wow @ICC wow. Great treatment nd FairPlay. No ban for Bancroft with all the evidence whereas 6 of us were banned for excessive appealing in South Africa 2001 without any evidence and Remember Sydney 2008? Not found guilty and banned for 3 matches.different people different rules.”
Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar comes out in support of Bhaji and wrote: “Spot on @harbhajan_singh .. ICC got different rules for different schools .. #shame”.
Farhan also criticised Michael Clarke, he tweeted, “Michael Clarke says Smith should be forgiven because he’s a great guy with a heart of gold… unlike all the opposing team members the Aussies have cheered being banned.! #AussieCheats.”
Cricket Australia will announce their decision today. The careers of Steve Smith, David Warner and Darren Lehmann are now in the hands of management.
