Farhan Akhtar’s Great Grandfather Was a Freedom Fighter in the Indian Rebellion of 1857, Exiled at Kalapani

Bollywood’s finest actor-director-singer Farhan Akhtar reached his ancestral village Khairabad, Uttar Pradesh. Here he visited his ancestral village and had words with native people. In his 5 hours duration visit he tasted Sheermal Pranthe and Sweet Paan too. The great grandfather of Farhan Akhtar, Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi was a freedom fighter in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He was exiled at Kalapani (Cellular Jail) in Andaman and Nicobar Islands where he took his last breath.

Farhan Akhtar said, “He heard about the different tales and stories about this ancestral village of them from his father and grand father so he was always curious to visit his roots. And today his wish got fulfilled.”

He also spent some time on the graves of his grandmother and grandfather. He took his Instagram account to post a photo of a grave belongs to Javed Akhtar’s (Farhan Akhtar’s father) great grand mother Heerma Khairabadi. 

He captioned this pic as, “The final resting place of my Great-Great-Grandmother Heerma Khairabadi .. difficult to describe what I felt standing there.”

Farhan Akhtar belongs to a family of lawyers, writers, and poets. Now we can guess how he is so talented. In a present date, at his ancestral village, his cousins live there.
