Attack
Actor John Abraham’s film Attack, which was released recently, was accused by writer Vicky Sharma of stealing the story. According to the author, the makers made this film by making minor changes to his story. He said that he had sent this script to John in the year 2014, but the actor disliked it and has now made the same film under his own name.
Gulabo – Sitabo
Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer film Gulabo Sitabo was released on the OTT platform in the year 2020. The film has also been accused of plagiarism. A person named Akira had alleged that the story of the film was written by his father Rajiv Aggarwal. However, the makers of Gulabo Sitabo issued a statement on this matter, clarifying that the story of the film was written in 2018 itself.
Pagglait
The film Pagglait, starring actress Sanya Malhotra, which came in the year 2019, was also embroiled in controversies of script theft. The makers of Ramprasad Ki Terahvi, which took place just three months after the release of the film, had accused the team of Paglat of stealing the script. Actually, the story of both the films was almost the same.
Bala
Ayushmann Khurrana’s comedy film Bala has also faced allegations of script theft. The special thing is that not one but two people had accused this film of stealing the story. According to writer Kamal Kant Chandra, he sent the script to Ayushmann during Bareilly Ki Barfi. After giving a positive response at first, the actor refused and later announced himself to make the film. Apart from this, the makers of actor Sunny Singh’s film Ujda Chaman also accused the makers of Bala of stealing the script.
Manikarnika
The script of Bollywood’s Panga Girl Kangana Ranaut’s film Manikarnika has been embroiled in a theft controversy. Film producer Ketan Mehta had sent a legal notice to the makers demanding credit. On this matter, Kangana had clarified that the two had thought of making a film together, but when there were differences, they decided to make the film alone.
