If we talk about an ordinary man coming from Bihar and then appearing as the hero of a Costa Rican film. Will you believe. Well, many of us won’t. But this man who once came from Bihar made it to Latin American films. Read to know more.
Prabhakar Sharan, the Bihari man has an untold surprising story to reveal. He starred in a Costa Rican movie. With this, he has become the first Indian to play the role of a protagonist in a Latin American movie. Yes, you read it right! But it was never that easy to reach such a place!
Prabhakar first came to Mumbai with a dream to become a superstar. However, he ended up in failures and rejections after numerous efforts. He then decided to go to the Latin American country Costa Rica, in search of work. There, he fell in love with a Costa Rican girl and married her. In the year 2014, he returned to India, while his wife decided to separate and stayed back in Costa Rica with their daughter. After a few months, he also returned to Costa Rica with a resolve to make a Bollywood-style film in the country.
Then came the day when Prabhakar’s name appeared as a debutante in the Spanish movie Enredados: La Confusion (Entangled: The Confusion). It became a box office success and was declared one of the most popular films of 2017 across the country.
The lead actress of the film opposite Prabhakar was a renowned television host in Costa Rica, Nancy Dobles. Hollywood actor and ex-world wrestling champion Scott Steiner, starred as the second male protagonist. Later Mariela Cruz, Ambassador of Costa Rica also appreciated it and quoted “I am very proud of this great effort that will serve as a platform to enhance the beauty of our country and to make known in other latitudes the first Bollywood-style film produced in Costa Rica for all of Latin America.,”
