In a breaking news supercop or the former DGP (Director General of Police) of Punjab and Assam, Kanwar Pal Singh passes away. He was 82 years old. He was the man who crushed the militancy in Punjab in the year 1983-1984. He took his last breath at 2:55 pm today at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi NCR.
He was hospitalized on May 18 after diagnosed with a kidney failure and a heart disease. He was recovering but suddenly got cardiac arrest caused by cardiac arrhythmia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences over the demise of KPS Gill and said he will always be remembered for his commendable service in the field of policing and security.
IPS officer KPS Gill was the chief of Punjab police from the year 1988 to 1995. He was awarded Padma Sri for serving best in the field of civil services. Rest in peace!
