Fans get a sneak peek of VD 12 at the celebration of Vijay Deverakonda’s birthday on May 9. On Tuesday, a brand-new movie poster was made available. Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also wrote and directed VD 12, suggests that the leading man will portray a spy in the movie who will either betray someone else or be betrayed by them in the movie’s poster. In the movie directed by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya, Sreeleela co-stars with the actor.
The producers, featuring the banner name Sithara Entertainment, posted the fresh look of the film and tweeted, “A tale of every spy can end up being a conspiracy theory. But their truth can never be disregarded! Wishing our Rowdy, THE #VijayDeverakonda, a very Happy Birthday from team #VD12 #HBDTHEVijayDeverakonda.” The depressing poster features a piece of Vijay’s face that has been pieced together after being run through a shredder. An unidentified spy is quoted as saying on the poster, “I don’t know where I belong, to tell you who I betrayed.”
Fans reacted to the new poster look. Someone wrote, “This is what we have been waiting for !!! Exciting.” Another wrote, “Gowtam Tinnanuri – Vdk – Ani. Hope On this One.” A comment read, “Finally a worthy script for VD.”
The team participated in a puja ceremony filming last week to officially launch the movie. The movie’s production is set to start next month.
Vijay would be portraying a cop in the movie, according to the first look released in January. Vijay tweeted, “The Script. The Team. My next. My heart skipped a few beats when I heard this.” The actor will next be seen with Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the Telugu film Kushi. The romantic drama, shot in Kashmir, will be released in theatres on September 1, 2023.
Last year, Vijay marked his Bollywood debut in the Hindi-Telugu film Liger, starring opposite Ananya Panday. The Puri Jagannadh-directed movie struggled at the box office.
