Geeta the Girl strande in Pakistan returns home today after 10 years which she spent inthe neighbouring country after she crossed over the border accidentally.
The young girl who also has hearing and speech impairment will be recieved by Pakistani diplomats on Indira Gandhi National Airport on 26th October i.e Today. She will also be meeting Sudhma Swaraj minister of External affairs in the afternoon and shall be hosted by Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in the evening.
“Great, Geeta is returning to her native home tommorrow. We wish her Healthy and Prosperous life”, Basit tweeted on sunday.
Geeta also identified her Father, Step-mother and siblings from a photograph which was sent to her by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. They all live in Bihar.
Geeta was just 7 or 8 years old when she was found by Pakistan Rangers sitting alone inside the Samjhauta Express at the Lahore Railway Station. The Government is also planning to conduct a DNA examination to find out about Geeta’s parentage before sending her to live with them.
