The officials of the city discovered two gold bars in the sewers in downtown Brussels, Belgium.
The Brussels employees were unblocking a gully leading to the sewers when they came across the two precious bars.
They rapidly notified the police who opened an investigation into this event, “Agencies” reported on Wednesday.
“An investigation is underway to verify whether these ingots have a criminal origin, if for example they are linked to a theft,” said a spokesman for the police, quoted by the Belgian newspaper.
The market value of the two gold bars has not been specified.
