Google Doodle payed tribute to famous poet and songwriter Kaifi Azmi on his 101st birthday today.
Google is celebrating the 101st birthday of famous Indian poet and songwriter on January 14. So Search engine Google posted a doodle on it’s homepage as a tribute to this social change advocate. Have a look:

Azmi wrote thousands of love poems for activism and Bollywood and also remembered for introducing Urdu literature to Indian Motion Pictures. Because his inspiration by Gandhi’s Quit India movement, he left for Mumbai to write for an Urdu newspaper.

Kaifi Azmi published his first collection of poems “Jhankar” in 1943. After that he became a member of the Progressive Writers’ Association. Kaifi has been awarded with 3 Filmfares, Padma shree award and Literature Academy Fellowship also.
