Amid heavy opposition from the Maharashtra government, the Bihar governor agreed to the recommendations made by the state government for the CBI probe into the case registered in Patna on the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Earlier, Nitish Kumar made this recommendation on the case filed against his former live-in-partner and actress Rhea Chakraborty on the charge of abetting Sushant to suicide and demanded of a CBI probe.
Announcing the recommendation of the CBI probe, Nitish Kumar had said that the government will complete all the formalities for sending the recommendation today. The Bihar Governor has approved this recommendation of the state government amid questions arising on the right of investigation by the Bihar government and the police regarding the incident in Maharashtra.
Some prominent ministers of Maharashtra said that Bihar Police has the right to ask for information from Mumbai Police, but it does not have the right to investigate the case in Maharashtra. The ministers of Maharashtra have questioned the legal validity of the CBI investigation on behalf of the Bihar government, which is already being investigated by the Maharashtra police.
It is worth mentioning that after the case was registered in Rajiv Nagar police station, Patna police formed a four-member SIT to investigate it. This team was sent to Mumbai. There, IPS officer and City SP (Central) Vinay Tiwari of Patna were sent. After the team did not get the support of Mumbai Police in the investigation of this case. However, SP Vinay Tiwari was quarantined by the Bombay Municipal Corporation (BMC) as soon as he reached Mumbai. There was a lot of resentment in the state government and Bihar Police about this. Suffering from the attitude of the Mumbai Police, Sushant’s father demanded a CBI probe into the case.
Bihar city SP Vinay Tiwari, who went to investigate the suicide case of film actor Sushant Singh Rajput, was forced to quarantine there on Sunday night in Bihar.
