‘Green soldier’ Who Planted One Crore Trees Dies With Saplings In Hand

Kunwar Damodar Singh Rathore, who was honored Indira Priyadarshini Vriksh Mitra Award in 2000 for planting right around a crore saplings, inhaled his last at 91 years old in Pithoragarh on Wednesday. He was admitted to the area doctor’s facility of Pithoragarh on May 25 after he fell sick when he went to splash a timberland fire at his town in Bhanora in Didihat tehsil.
