Recently Aam Aadmi Party have made to a trail of mixed reactions from people across domains on their appeal to the government to include pictures of Hindu gods on the currency notes to bring in goodness and prosperity. Party leader and representative Atishi Marlena has made a similar remark supporting the stance of her party. Bollywood actors Gauahar Khan and Nakuul Mehta have posed their disappointment towards the statement.
Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal have appealed to the center to initiate this action along with the picture of Mahatma Gandhi. After which, Atishi laid a statement saying, “You can continue to hate Arvind Kejriwal if you want to, but don’t hate Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha at least. Don’t hate their blessings. Don’t hate this country’s prosperity at least.”
Reacting to which Nakuul Mehta tweeted, “And they all fall down.. eventually.” While Gauahar Khan went on to say, “Alas a leader who I thought was focused on development has fallen prey to the race of winning in politics. Religion is used only by the weakest kind of politicians . The greed of wanting to win a state election can make u so different. #sad Time to unfollow.”
Interestingly, Gul Panag, who has earlier contested for the Lok Sabha for AAP, tweeted, “Whether it’s a means to an end or an end in itself – bringing religion into everything, is a game everyone will play now. And not just politicians! Those who disagree can keep invoking the Constitution, in vain.”
