Bollywood’s popular comedian Johnny Lever is celebrating his birthday on 14 August today. Johnny Lever was born in a Christian family in Kanigiri, Andhra Pradesh. Johnny made his debut with Sunil Dutt’s film Dard Ka Rishta.

Johnny Lever’s childhood was spent in extreme poverty. He used to sell pens on the streets of Pune. While selling pens, he also used to photograph Ashok Kumar, Jeevan. In a talk show, Johnny told that he used to earn up to 100 rupees per day.

Johnny’s friend told in a talk show- ‘When there was any function around our house, we used to go there and perform. During this time, one day a lot of transgenders arrived at a function. Johnny Lever started having fun dance with them and started copying them. Then they told Johnny that you too should join our group.’

Talking about Johnny Lever’s personal life, he married to Sujatha in 1984. Johnny Lever has two children – a daughter Jamie and a son Jessie. Jessie had a throat tumor. Hee was in the 12th class at that time.

Jessie’s tumor had grown so much that it took the form of cancer. This caused Johnny Lever to break completely. Johnny Lever’s son completed his 12th standard and then underwent treatment for cancer. Jessie became cancer free after treatment.
