Hardik Pandya in an interview with Gaurav Kapur on the popular show “Breakfast with Champions” recalled the moment when he almost got arrested during his trip to the West Indies as part of India’s limited-overs squad. And the whole credit went to Kieron Pollard. Hardik said that when he was in West Indies, he spent the whole time with Pollard as he knew that Pollard won’t let anything happen to him.
Hardik shared an interesting incident,
“However, he decided to pull my leg. He called a police officer, who was actually his friend, who tried to arrest me. I knew it was a prank but at one point, things got a little serious. I stayed calm and I thought I would call the Indian team and sort it all out because I haven’t done anything wrong.”
Pandya continued, “I figured out it was a prank when I saw the police officer try to call someone while holding the phone upside down with the speaker at the other end.”
Hardik also said that he has a unique bond with Pollard, he met his family and also called him,
“A brother from another mother”
On the work front, Pandya is undergoing a period of strength and conditioning at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Due to heavy workload, the All-India Senior Selection Committee in consultation with the Indian team management has decided to rest Pandya for the ongoing Paytm Test series against Sri Lanka.
