Sanaya Irani, known for her role “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?”, recently caught attention after sharing a terrifying experience from her college days. While talking to Hauterrfly, she opened up about an incident of harassment that occurred while she was on a bus in Mumbai. The incident that took place left a lasting mark on her.
The actress explained about a regular day when she was returning home from college with a friend. She said that when she was sitting on the bus she felt something strange on her knee. At first, she could not make out. But when she felt it again, she looked up and saw a man sitting in front of her, touching her knee inappropriately through the gap between the seats. This man then moved to a seat across from her and started masturbating while staring directly at her. Terrified and shaken, Sanaya and her friend decided to get off the bus at the next stop, despite her initial hesitation.
In another disturbing incident, Sanaya recalled how a man at a bus stop was openly engaging in indecent behavior. The man was trying to get her attention. But she tried to ignore him by not letting such disturbing actions affect her. Despite these frightening experiences, Sanaya mentioned that she has generally felt safe in Mumbai and does not let these incidents define or limit her.
For those unaware she stepped into the entertainment industry with her debut in the film “Fanaa,” alongside Aamir Khan and Kajol. However, she got fame with her roles on television which made her a household name. She appeared in popular shows like “Left Right Left,” “Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi,” and “Miley Jab Hum Tum.” But her portrayal of Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada in “Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?” was a game changer for her. And she established herself as a leading figure in Indian television.
