Warner Bros. has made some surprising choices over the past decade when it comes to the DC Extended Universe. In those (almost) ten years, many projects were announced, many of which were never completed.
When the DCEU just launched, Henry Cavill was cast as Superman. We actually saw far too little of him in the films, but apparently his time is not over yet, despite previous stories. Cavill would return in a Superman movie after all.
Bigger contract
Well, first there is the story that Bad Robot, the production house of JJ Abrams is working on a new Superman movie. For this they are looking for a black actor and a black director. The screenplay comes from Ta-Nehisi Coates.
Since a new Superman seeks, a lot of fans thought that Warner Bros. therefore had said goodbye to Henry Cavill. But the Small Screen site now states that this is not the case.
The site relies on its own, anonymous source, and it is subtly pointed out that Cavill signed a new contract for more Superman films last year. In short: it must be possible that he is not yet ready as Superman.
