Shah Rukh Khan entertained everyone by sharing a funny story involving Deepika Padukone at the Jawan success celebration in Mumbai. Prior to Jawan, the actors co-starred in Pathaan and were featured in the sultry song “Besharam Rang,” which left many people in awe of their on-screen chemistry. Ironically, Shah Rukh Khan unexpectedly realised that Deepika could portray his mother in Jawan as they were filming this dance.
Shah Rukh Khan averred “Deepika was doing Besharam Rang. I will not lie, I saw her doing Besharam Rang and I felt she will be good as a mother. So, I asked Pooja (his manager Pooja Dadlani), ‘kya yeh maa ka role karegi?‘ She said, ‘Shah she loves you too much, of course.’ I’ll tell you honestly. Pooja must have gone to her for 2 seconds and immediately she came back saying, ‘ya she will do it’. Deepika said whenever you say I will come and do it.’”
Shah Rukh Khan portrays both Vikram Rathore and his son Azaad in the movie Jawan.Vikram Rathore’s wife was portrayed by Deepika Padukone in the movie during her lengthy cameo.
Deepika spoke about her varied roles in Jawan and Pathaan during the occasion. She clarified, “I am playing a sultry character in one movie, and a mother in the next. I personally didn’t approach it like that. I invested in the vision, in the story. If that meant I play the role of a mother, so be it.”
The movie Jawan has so far gathered a phenomenal international total of Rs 795.50 crore, continuing to break box office records.
