On August 10, the motion picture Jailer, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, was released in theatres. The criminal thriller with Rajinikanth is all set for an OTT release. You did read that correctly. The Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu releases of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan will collide with the movie.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer has been reserved by Amazon Prime Video. The movie will have its platform debut on September 7 in conjunction with the release of Atlee’s Jawan.
Jailer broke box office records, taking in more over Rs 500 crore globally and over Rs 200 crore in India. With a Day 1 gross of Rs 44.50 crore, it was the greatest opening in Tamil cinema this year. In addition to its strong showing in Tamil Nadu, the movie also did well in Telangana, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The movie brought in Rs 1.60 crore on Day 23 across all languages. The movie has made a total domestic revenue of Rs 329.83 crore.
Jailer, which is directed by Kalanithi Maran, also has significant performances by Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Mirna Menon, Mohanlal, Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan, and Tamannaah Bhatia. The movie tells the tale of a former jailer who will stop at nothing to find a strong prisoner who can use his connections to get out of jail. The huge success of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 coincided with the release of Jailer. But it was effective in writing a history.
