Before it was even released, Nelson Dilip Kumar’s film Jailer, which starred Rajinikanth, became very well known. With a pre-release gross of Rs. 12 crore, the Telugu version of the film did well by pre-release standards, which pegged a hit at Rs. 13 crore.
