Sant Rampal Verdict: Hisar Court Acquits Him in Both Cases

In a breaking news Sant Rampal, the self-styled godman who was accused in two cases regarding obstruction of government officers and rioting acquitted by the local court of Hisar, Haryana. The verdict came a day after CBI special judge Jagdeep Singh awarded 20 years of imprisonment to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in two rape cases after he got convicted.

The 67 years old Sant Rampal, was arrested by the police in November 2014 following a 30-hour standoff wherein Rampal’s militia allegedly tried to stop paramilitary forces from entering the Satlok ashram. A special court was set up inside Hisar Central Jail in order to pass the verdict against the accused. Today again the government of Haryana has imposed Section 144 and lock down the state in order to resist violence by the followers of Sant Rampal.

To let you know, Rampal is acquitted in just two cases. However, he has 11 other cases against him in connection with the violence in which five women and a baby were killed that happened after the godman tried to resist the security forces from arresting him.
