The new Hizbul Mujahideen chief, Zakir Rashid Bhat Musa, has threatened to attack Jammu and Kashmir police and their families if they don’t stop harassing the families of militants in the state.
In a new video, being circulated on social media, Zakir has asked cops to stop attacking “our families in the valley or face dire consequences”.
“You (cops) are committing a big mistake by harassing our families, by involving our families,” he says in the video, adding, “This is a fight between us and you have involved families”.
Bhat, the successor of slain Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, took over after Wani was killed during an encounter on July 8 this year.
“We have families and you have families too. If you touch our families, we will not spare your families… Everybody has a family. You think your families are in Jammu so they are safe. Even if your families are in Kanyakumari, we have the capacity to kill them there,” – Bhat said.
