India kicked off the Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 with a phenomenal win against Spain with a score of 2-0 at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, Rourkela. Amit Rohidas and Hardik Singh is at the target at the onset and will now be facing England on Sunday. The Harmanpreet Singh-led team is now aiming for the World Cup Trophy, which will make it historic after 48 long years. Team India finished at the sixth rank in the last series in 2018.
The team also fetched a silver in the Commonwealth Games 2022 held at Birmingham.
As of the final round’s records, in the second half, India could not score a goal, however later Harmanpreet Singh and his co. harnessed the situation and were able to maintain the 2-0 first-half lead.
