After a proposed three-year contract deal is accepted by the board and members of the Writers Guild of America, the months-long impasse between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the Writers Guild is finally expected to come to an end. Since May 2, there has been a labour dispute, during which authors have protested for fair pay and improved working conditions.

However, a settlement between Hollywood stars and the studios still hasn’t been reached. Along with the writers, SAG-AFTRA, which has 160,000 members, has been on strike since July. Production on written TV series might start in a matter of weeks, and fresh episodes might be prepared for airing by the beginning of next year, if the performers follow suit and reach a swift deal.
