The largest Hollywood unions reached an agreement with producers on Monday about new security measures on the set, in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. According to Variety, the agreement comes almost four months after guidelines were drawn up to be able to resume productions.
The agreement states, among other things, that cast and crew members are obliged to have themselves tested one day before the start of the recording. Actors and staff involved during the preparation period, such as rehearsals, should do so with some regularity.
In addition, the wearing of personal protective equipment will be compulsory. In addition, each set has a special zone system, so that not everyone is in the same place at the same time.
The agreement was concluded between the Directors Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA (actors) trade unions and the professional association of film and TV producers.
Film companies worldwide halted their productions when the coronavirus broke out. Recordings have now resumed for some of these productions.
