Zack Snyder’s recently released Justice League and viewers are busy comparing it to the heavily edited Joss Whedon cut of 2017 that was critically scrutinized. There are a lot of things that Snyder’s version does better, whether it’s in terms of visual effects, character arc, or the overall flow of the story. Another thing that is obvious is that Snyder had many plans already made for the direction he wanted the DCEU to take. For example, showing Jared Leto’s Joker killing Batman’s sidekick Robin in cold blood in Justice League 2 .
In 2017, David Ayer confirmed that Joker had indeed killed Robin before the events of his Suicide Squad shrouded. But we never got to see the heartbreaking moment in later DC films . Well, according to Zack Snyder’s now-abandoned DCEU plans, he was going to show the scene in the sequel to his first Justice League movie.
“So basically in the alternate future movie we would have been in this post-Superman, Anti-Life Equation world where the team knew the only way to fix the world was to revive Flash and warn Bruce to save Lois. And so in this world, the movie was basically going to be about a motley group of Justice League members on a mad mission to steal a Mother Box from this half-destroyed Gotham Cathedral and bring it back to the Batcave in order to use it. it allows the cosmic treadmill to take Flash back in time. ”
Zack Snyder further shared this about the canceled follow-up.
“And the night before the big mission, they would have that last supper of some sort of calculation, where they would tell all their stories. One of those stories was Joker telling the story of Robin’s death. “
Snyder teases this Justice League 2 story in his version of Justice League , where we see Bruce Wayne having a Knightmare vision where Earth was taken over by Darkseid and his forces via the anti-life equation, a mathematical formula. powerful which gives the user absolute control over the will of others. He took control of Kal-el by killing Lois Lane, after which he was so lost in his grief that he succumbed to the effects of the anti-life equation. Thus, he transforms into an evil Superman who hunts down his old friends on the orders of Darkseid.
Snyder also had other plans for the DCEU, such as a solo Batman film starring Ben Affleck’s hooded crusader and Joe Manganiello as the villainous Deathstroke. Recently, he also shared that the third film in his Justice League trilogy would have shown Batman’s death. The son of Superman and Lois, who would have been born without any power, would have become the new protector of Gotham City.
“It was going to be the son of Lois and Superman,” explained the filmmaker. “He has no power, and then he was going to become the new Batman. “
“Twenty years later, on [Batman’s] death anniversary, they take young Bruce Kent to the Batcave and they say, ‘Your uncle Bruce would have been proud if you had done that’,” he added. . Source: ComicBook.com.
