The rapper Honey Singh admitted to being under the influence of money, addiction, and women.
Honey Singh one of the renowned music artists in India recently revealed his hard-knock journey to stardom. It includes the toll that has taken on his family life including an ex-wife, Shalini Talwar. While Honey Singh has refrained from revealing details of his divorce and parting ways, he has confessed how stardom, wealth and substance abuse separated him from his married life.
Honey Singh is married to Shalini Talwar and the couple tied the knot on January 23, 2011. To back their accusations, Singh said, There was harmony during the initial 9-10 months of our marriage. However, as his career progressed and he got involved in the world of drugs and alcohol, everything began to decline. The pair later separated and officially divorced between the years 2022 and 2023.
This is a fact that Honey Singh has also spoken publicly in a recent interview with The Lallantop. Wherein he said “Our relationship wasn’t too good during that time, space was created between us because traveling got the better of me… I stopped paying attention to my family and got completely trapped in Money, fame, addiction, and women.” He also stated that during the period he did many things he deeply regrets, including almost abandoning his wife Shalini.
In the same interview, Honey Singh recalled that he was introduced to drugs by some relevant personalities in the industry. He was an angel of a heroin addict which meant that he got stoned most of the time and did not even know what he was doing. Songs in this genre are powerful in portraying the desire of the addicts though, even at the peak of his addiction, Singh claimed he never required rehab to get clean.
There came a time when Honey Singh realized that his reckless lifestyle was taking a toll on his mental health. And he decided to avoid substance intake from his regimen. He disclosed them to his family but later he required medical attention, his family also reminded him about the legal complications he could face up because of a tight schedule that includes commitments.
Luckily, Honey prioritized his health and remained out of sight for seven long years until he fully recovered. While the singer is out and loud promoting his latest album Glory. A documentary chronicling Honey Singh’s glorious life and controversial struggle will soon arrive on Netflix.
