The biggest and the most controversial reality show Bigg Boss is coming back for its 16th installment this October. Hosted by none other than Salman Khan. The television reality show Bigg Boss, is one of the most watched shows that attract millions of viewers. Currently hosted by Salman Khan, it is an adaptation of the Dutch reality show Big Brother. The show first aired in 2006, and from thereon it went on to become one of the most popular and spectacular shows in India. The show gained much popularity after Salman Khan took over as a host of the show. However, it was not Salman who hosted the show for the first season. It was Arshad Warsi. He was the first host of the show. However, for the second season, he was replaced by Shilpa Shetty who was replaced by Amitabh Bachchan in season 3. Later from season 4 onwards, Salman Khan took over and has been hosting Bigg Boss.
Although Salman is hosting the show since the fourth season. But according to the reports he also planned to leave many times over the past thirteen seasons. But the reports didn’t turn true. In fact, he himself admitted that whenever he planned to leave, the producers managed to influence him every time. Now let’s talk about the fee that he charged to host the show right from season four to season 15.
According to the report, the actor was paid ₹2.5 crores per episode from seasons four to six of the show. Later for Bigg Boss 7, he doubled his fees to ₹5 crores. Then for Bigg Boss 8, Salman charged ₹5.5 crores per episode and for Bigg Boss 9, he hiked his fees from 5.5 crores to ₹7-8 crores per episode. In season 10 of Bigg Boss, he took home ₹8 crores per episode. In the 11th season, he again increased the amount which was 11 crore per episode. After all, it’s Salman Khan and he doesn’t come cheap. Isn’t it?
Talking about the 12th season Khan charged between Rs 12 crore to Rs 14 crore for each episode. However, the actor’s fee didn’t remain constant and he again hiked Rs 15.50 crore per episode of season 13. For each episode of season 14, he charged Rs 20 crores. Overall taking 450 crores. As it was the longest season. The 15th season fee was Rs 15 crore for each episode. And was approx Rs 350 crore, for all the episodes. Now for the upcoming 16th season, it is believed that the Bigg Boss host demanded a payment that is triple the original value. Guess how much? Well, there is a buzz everywhere on social media that he will charge a whopping Rs 1,000 crore for the entire season. However, the information is yet to be confirmed.
