Applying for PAN card is now easy as they can now apply for new PAN card offline as well as online. How to apply for PAN card in both the ways. Its complete information is given below.
The government has made a provision for applicants to apply for PAN through the Income Tax PAN Services Unit of NSDL. Follow this easy step to apply PAN Card Online:
Step 1: To apply for new PAN,visit theNSDL website https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html
Step 2: Select the application type – New PAN for Indian Nationals, Foreign Nationals or Change/Update existing PAN data
Step 3: Select your category- Individual, Trust, Institution, Firm etc.
Step 4: Fill all the required details like name, date of birth, email id and your mobile number in the PAN form
Step 5: On submitting the form, you will get a message about the next method
Step 6 : Click on “Continue with the PAN Application Form” button
Step 7: You will be redirected to anew page where you haveto submityour digital e-KYC
Step 8: Now choose whether you want a physical PAN card or not and enter the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number
Step 9: Now enter your personal details in the next part of the form
Step 10: In the next section of the form, enter your contact and other information
Step 11: Enter your area code, AO type and other information in this part of the form.
Step 12: The last part of the form is document submission and declaration
Step 13: Submit the PAN card application. You need to check your complete form to make corrections, if any. If you do not want to make any changes, click on the “Proceed” button
Step 14: You will be redirected tothe “payment” section where you have to make the payment either through demand draft or through net banking/debit/credit card
Step 15: Once the payment is done, the payment slip will be generated, nowclick on Continue
Step 16: Now for Aadhaar Authentication, tick on declaration and click on “Authenticate” option
Step 17: Click on “Continue with e-KYC” and OTP will be sent to your mobile number linked with Aadhaar
Step 18: Enter OTP and submit the form
Step 19: Click on “Continue with e-Sign” , and enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar linked mobile number
Step 20: Enter the OTP and submit the application and get the acknowledgment slip. The acknowledgment slip will be in PDF with the password of your date of birth in the format DDMMYYYY
PAN Card Application Fees
To apply for PAN card, PAN application fee for Indian address is Rs.110. And the PAN fee for foreign address is Rs.1020- (inclusive of GST). The fee is to be paid through Demand Draft drawn from’NSDL-PAN’, Credit Card / Debit Card or Net Banking.
Proof of Identity required to apply for PAN Card
(A) Self-attested copy of any one of the following documents:
- Aadhar card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)
- Voter ID Card
- driving license
- Passport
- Ration card containing the photograph of the applicant
- branch license
- photo ID
- pensioner’s card
- Health service scheme card issued by the central government
(B) Identity card in a prescribed format signed by Member of Parliament / Legislative Assembly / Municipal Councilor or Gazetted Officer
Proof of address required to apply for PAN card
(A) You will have to submit a copy of any one of the following documents as address proof:
- Aadhar card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)
- Voter ID Card
- Passport
- driving license
- Copy of first and last page of spouse’s passport (if the address mentioned in the form matches with the address mentioned in the husband’s passport)
- Post office passbook to applicant’s address
- Property Tax Assessment Order
- residence certificate issued by the government
- Allotment letter issued by the State or Central Government (should not exceed three years)
- property registration document
(B) Self-attested copy of any one of the following documents (not more than three months old)
- electricity bill
- water bill
- landline or broadband connection bill
- Proof of gas connection (card/book with new bill)
- Bank account statement (statement should mention latest transaction)
- deposit account statement
- credit card statement
