India emerged victorious against England for the first time in the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup final on Sunday. The women in blue has come one step closer to the trophy more importantly after England’s batting stance dwindled in the game.
Titas Sadhu initially did the damage but later did the repair by picking the in-form Liberty Heap in the initial over while off-spinner Archana Devi performed well keeping a rough patch ready for the England batters to face from the very start. The batting lineup seemed to be quite weak from the very beginning whereas the Indian bowlers tried to pitch in breakthroughs in between the overs.
Fetching a minor 69, India lost two wickets Shafali Verman and Shweta Sehrawat quite early. While a strong partnership of G Trisha and Soumya Tiwari was constructed throughout the match which helped to upkeep India’s game on.
Soumya Tiwari minted the winnings runs for India which made the women in blue the champions in the inaugural edition of the ICC Under 19 Womens T20 World Cup. Shafali and her team sprint in the middle of the ground, hearts filled with joy and celebrated the victory. While some were welled up with emotions. India Women U19 won by 7 wkts.

The second T20 between India and New Zealand will be hosted in Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
